The Wiyot Tribe received funding from the US Department of the Treasury to support families in financial need to help pay for household related bills.
The Homeowner Assistance Fund program makes funds available to assist households that have had hardship since the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic to pay for their mortgage, home or other insurance related to their home, property taxes, utility bills for their home, home repairs to ensure the habitability of the home, homeowner's association fees, and assistance in mortgage reduction.
Despite the number of owners or adults in the home contributing to the household payments, each household has a maximum of $2,600.00 to request for these uses.
This program will end either September 30, 2026, or when funds are exhausted; whichever comes first.

The Emergency Rental Assistance program makes funds available to assist households that are unable to pay rent and utilities due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds are provided directly to States, U.S. Territories, local governments, and Indian tribes. We are using the funds to aid eligible enrolled Wiyot households who have been impacted financially by the pandemic and are struggling to pay rent and utilities. Eligibility is based on current income and family size. This program can also be used for short-term hotel stay to assist households in-between more permanent accommodations.
