[ARCHIVED] Wiyot Natural Resources Community Advisory Committee (CAC) 10/10 5:30pm- 7pm

Join the WNRD on Tuesday October 10th at 5:30 p.m. to 7p.m. as we host Wallis Robinson from UC Agricultural Extension for a discussion around the trend of du’k (Sitka spruce) defoliation that is occurring in and around Wiyot Tribe ancestral lands and threats to this culturally important tree species.  Sitka spruce around Table Bluff and Wigi are visually struggling with needle die-back from pests, and in Wiyot country are also at the southern limit of their range, making them more susceptible and at risk from climate change.  Du'k (spruce) is critically important to the art of Wiyot basketry and the WNRD want to support conservation efforts around these evolving problem.
